W.W., good afternoon, sir,
Back in the early days of this build, you were the fellow who told me to ditch the tin lid so I did. ;o) I don't anticipate owning a lot of open turret vehicles and especially no others that require that almost everything inside it be built ( even the M10 has a load of turret accessories that have come with it ) so I figured I might as well have a go at it. I went through your build thread a couple of times before starting. Thanks for the inspiration!
regards,
Painless

Painless the secret to unlocking his success may be permanent enibriation and some private forays with the ladies of the French countryside

Carl! Good evening! Well, you never know with Joe. ;o) Finishing up a long day, I spent a few hours remaking the shell holders for the Ready Rack and getting them painted. After another look in the Walk Around book, I made them out of thin brass strips and dropped the previous plastic bits idea as too chunky. On the Schumo front, I received an email from Robert at ETO. His shipment is in the States and on its way to his warehouse for distribution this weekend ( hopefully ) I would assume that means that all the other vendors have their re stock and are ready for sales. ;o)

I watched a WW2 doco last night recorded from a while back. Sure did have a large content of these M10 type T/D AFV's
One could well have been an M36 as it briefly flashed a roof cover on the turret as does yours.
The crew involved did not look impressed as the period was that leading up to The 'Bulge' battle & it was cold !

Superb use of materials & technique Mr Painless....................
Cant be "easy being Green" especially when your turret internals are exposed :haha:

Herman, there weren't a lot of these M36B1s in combat but they were there and saw action at the Bulge and in Germany. Yep, I'll bet a convertible Tank Destroyer was not the most popular thing in any kind of bad weather, metal or canvas temp tops not withstanding. Tonight I did a little research and applied the basic markings for the vehicle. From the 605th up to the 899th, it could have rolled out of any of their Depots. Pics:
