Thanks lads, got a cheapo pot of canvas base paint called stone. Its a pigment paint and goes on like primer.
I used a wash of raw umber into the crevices to give a bit of depth, then a wash of the stone.
The street looked ok, but still lacked something.
I airbrushed a DAK wash over it, and made a heavy area where wheels , tracks & foot traffic would roll.
Looks way betterer.
For the time Ive put in, and the way it looks all fitted out with 'Faustnik' and tank, Im pretty stoked.

Thanks mate, It does look pretty good as a set up................
Trouble is now I have to get 5 more Ikea turn tables and make a little scene for each

Looks great. What is the size of the table? It could have a larger diameter of at least 10cm. So most are right in saying 1:16 is difficult to get nice dioramas for. But as a vignette, it looks fantastic and it is much better than a plain place in the shelf.

Thanks Mr Soeren, better than just a shelf for sure.
The turntable is 15 inches/380mm diameter.
To make it bigger I could have screwed another board on top but the smaller size keeps things busy and compact.
Having the figure led to making the scene so it's funny how one thing leads to another !!
All done now apart from the portrait on the inside of the ruin.

Should see if you can find an old stamp with Hitler on it?

I caaaannnnn..........but its to bloody expensive to use on this !!
I will get one of the girls at work who are handy with computers to reduce a picture/portrait & make it the right size.
I can do a frame & broken glass with a thins sheet of clear plastic.

I'm not sure if the site rules allow me to post a picture of a "WW2 German poster" - copyright? But if you try that phrase in Google it comes up with lots of pictures which could be printed off and turned into a tattered poster on a damaged wall.
