Philipat, how did you get rid of the huge gap behind the mantlet? Does this tank have BB or a recoil unit?

I didn't. I like to be able to drive AND shoot things after I've finished a build. So, I kept the BB unit. The length of the BB unit requires the gap behind the mantlet.

I think I’ve finished. I don’t know about the whole chalk-dusting-thing. I’ve given the entire tank a very light dusting using Tamiya’s Desert Yellow (XF-59). Basically, I used a mixture of 2:1:1 (Tamiya acrylic solvent : rubbing alcohol : paint) and then airbrushed it from about 12" away from the tank. It kept the overall color of the tank, but softened the color and the sharper contrasts of the pristine tools, rubber tires, machine gun barrels and markings.

I think it looks pretty good. I’m tempted to just leave it as it is. You can see the difference the dusting makes when you compare the pictures of the last post to the ones in this post.

:shifty: ;)

The light dusting worked very well Mr Phil
Subtle(like the 'b' in subtle) and not excessive.
The time of day really changes the hue, but I know the effect is more profound in real life.

Great, great work mate, let us know how it runs eh..................

Thanks, guys. Travelling at the moment...I plan to run it when I get home. I bench-tested the electronics as I assembled it. So, everything works. Now, I have to see how it actually drives. :D

She runs well. But, the imitation leaf spring suspension makes it very susceptible when driving on rough terrain, especially if you try to back up. The metal leaf gets caught up and then bends. So, I try to keep it only going forward in the lawn. I use reverse on solid, smooth surfaces, or reasonably close to that.

And...I finally got some photos in the field. 8)
