I think my phone camera may have exaggerated the perspective. I took this from a different angle and the Puma looks a lot smaller, I think.

I've now fitted the electrics and given them a test. It is a Clark TK24S board with a FySkyi6X transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is set up for S-bus operation and the switches are correctly assigned as per the instructions on the Clark web site. I have an immediate problem. The moment I switch the power on, the speaker starts up with a sound I can't identify. If I flick the correct switch I then get the engine start up sound over the top of the existing one. I have tried to video this, but the sound is not very good.

Stian tested the board before sending it, so I must have something wrong. If anyone can identify the sound and tell me what I have done wrong, I shall be very grateful.

P.S. I have the transmitter in mode 1, which gives me throttle and turret rotation on the right stick. Which mode gives me throttle and steering on the same stick? Ideally I would like this to be the left stick a I'm left handed.

What you're hearing are the elevation and turret rotation sounds, which means they're triggered from your TX usually. I suggest you re-calibrate your sticks and pots, as the S.Bus version is really sensitive. Your outputs should be dead center and you should remove any trims or subtrims you made before doing the re-calibration. (On the FS-i6S you can do that by going to system and then Sticks adjust. The FS-i6X you're using should have something similar.)

On my FlySky FS-i6S these are the channel configurations per mode:

The needed inputs per channel:

Code: Select all

Ch1	Steering stick
Ch2	Propulsion stick
Ch3	Elevation stick
Ch4	Turret Rotation stick
Ch5	2 POS switch
Ch6	2 POS Switch
Ch7	3 POS Switch
Ch8	3 POS Switch
Ch9	3 POS Switch
Ch10	3 POS Switch
So if you want steering and throttle on left stick it would be Mode 3 on the FlySky FS-i6S. As you're using the FS-i6X this might be different.

Thanks. That is very helpful. I will have a fiddle with the trims and sticks and their settings.

Sorted. Not quite sure how. I fiddled around and all of a sudden it stopped. Not complaining though. I now have a full set of sounds, and very good they are.

I've just been testing all the other functions. Everything works except the gun elevation. It's not the servo - if I connect it to the recoil on the board, when I fire the gun, it goes up and down. I connected a spare servo to the J4 connection on the board. When I power up, the servo zeroes itself. However, I get no response at all from the joystick. Any suggestions anyone?

One thought -it is a new transmitter. Could the problem lie with the joystick? Using the display facility, it responds when I move the stick.
