Light at the end not a train coming the other way !!!!
After almost a month without booze, women, or rugby I did rather over indulge in , well, all really :wtf:
The bug got me as it had no alchohol barrier to fight through.................well thats my version :/
Doors closing, yip, well a feww got knocked on & more than one was opened, but its still a transition stage right now.
The resources sector is pretty flat here as you will know.
She'll be right

Well mate, put bluntly.................it was water bore mentality having a crack at proper drilling that got me worried.
A bit like a hospital orderly fronting up at a heart operation just because he's pushed a few gurneys into theatre & reckons theres not much to it :O
Glad that can be put to experience & I look forward to the next one.

Got a bit done. Welds on the mystery mounts and the spare track hangers on the rear.
Will get around & do all the welds & flame cut marks over the entire unit so I can finish the red primer on the hull.
The rocket mounting plates will be the next pain in the but-tox detail to complete.
I hope the night fighting hardware will arrive soon so these can be added ready to paint.

A little bit but progress that counts.

Mix of solder(the old fashioned kind) and super glue Gel ( the new kind)
I really should use mild steel & T.I.G. the stuff together, but the forming of the basic shapes in brass is way easier.
Imitation welds in this size & certain positions are really bloody hard, so expediency rules the day.

After the Selleys no more gaps had set, textured the welds using a small screwdriver & spit !
Heated the entire thing with a hair dryer & rushed outside to get the primer on.
A combination of semi-final rugby on TV, plenty of Tennessee's finest export, and the cold outside made me nearly ass-over in my haste to get the tank/turntable/primer combo out to the paint table before it cooled off :/ :/
Looks much better with an even coverage of red.
All flame cut areas are done, almost all the welds I can be bothered with done, now its just chains for the spare track retaining pins and the night fighting hardware mountings.

Tools etc will be ready to place once all the other snot has been secured. I have been tossing up with placing late tow cable clevices on either side of the rear mounted cleaning rod/aerial storage tube as there is a small space available to take them, but still undecided.

Looks good Herman I'd be tempted to leave it in red oxide.

The primer is from Autobarn (a car parts chain store) Holts Duplicolour DS108

Im thinking of leaving the wheels in primer and doing the rest in a green base, but still not 100% decided.

Herman I am so pleased that life has stopped giving you a kicking and has allowed you to look at it through the telescope the right way round, although I was slightly perturbed when you celebrated the arrival of situation normal by indulging in not only wine, sorry JD's and song but WOMEN!!!
Does this mean the arrival yet again in 9 months time of the patter of tiny feet? :O
I have limited my comments on your exploits with the Panther simply because I have been P**ded off by the so called professional makers of Tanks and their ability to rip off the less knowing members of our hobby with PAN-TIGERS.
A trap I have avoided by never buying one! But your example of a believable type unlike HENG LONG's baseless and fraudulent example is beginning to stir my antipathy and who knows I might search out a "REAL" 1/16 Panther :haha: .
I have Just like you, and a lot of other people suffered the downside of life's rich tapestry, it makes the inevitable arrival of the good side all the richer, take care. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
