Puramo Hi, If you like detail on your Panzer 4 then as long as you can live without the R/C you should have a look at Trumpeters 1/16 PZ4 it is a tour de force,
It misses nothing and includes a detailed engine and transmission,

Could use the PzIV from Trumpeter for detailed parts to up the anty on the Taigen or HL...or Tamiya too.

Admittedly, I’m slow. Between work, work travels, family and the local BSA troop, I also have to fit in the weather that is warm enough to paint. Anyhow, I applied a few coats of Testors Dull Cote. It definitely flattened the color and even seems to have darkened it a little.

Next will be to give a light dusting with Tamiya’s Desert Yellow (XF-59). I might also see if I can find some pale yellow or pale yellow-brown sidewalk chalk to dust it a little more. Wonder if I can make it will a blend of ground white and yellow sidewalk chalk...

I haven't built the Trumpeter PZ4 but it would be the very epitome of shelf queens were I to do so.
And your PZ4 well Ooh Mister it just gets even better,
I have avoided fitting extra armour on the mantlet of my Africa Korp PZ4 and instead did what a number of crews did and that was fixing spare track along it instead,
And my Short barrelled Aus F in the Russian campaign is still work in progress although "Shapeways" offers a variety of PZ4 added armour mantlets which I might invest some money into.
But in the meantime I shall continue stealing all your ideas

Shaun, thanks! The extra armor ended up being much easier than I expected. Just be careful to measure twice and build a template. I think it is Woz that made a bunch of 3d printed stuff for his PzIV build and put them on Shapeways. If they had been available when I started the build, I would have bought them and used almost all of them. But, he didn't start until I was moving into the painting phase.

I have the HL Sd Kfz ausf F1 (I think the same as Philipat and Painless) and will be working with that. Not a huge fan of 1/16 kits but have done the HB 1/48 T34 full interior and also have 1/35 SU 76 and Sahariana, but that's getting off subject.

The designation is not really official, but to a modeller it just means F1 Short Barrel, Although temporarily it was designated F1 it was soon called AuS "F" as its official name. and the same for the F2 Long Barrel,
The real designations for Panzer 4s are letters of the alphabet from "A" to "J" ,
Philipats present build is a "G" AKA "F2",
But Painless is a bit more like a car dealership with the Tanks that roll out of his workshop,
I am pretty sure he has built most of the Panzer 4 range,
I certainly remember him coming to my aid years ago when I was having trouble with one of my PZ4s,

Philipat, can I ask where you got your 2mm conical rivets.

I got them at www.scalehardware.com, which I just learned closed its doors late last year. Here's a thread with some possible alternative sources. I haven't checked any of the links; so, I can't vouch for any of it.
