I think I have identified the mystery Tiger part. It is the part that is left over after the Tiger has fired it's gun at a Sherman. :D

Nice to see the progress on this build, the day that somene has built a Tiger and not one single person has come along and said 'Well that's not right', is unlikely to arrive this side of hell freezing over. Lol.

She's going to be a great tank, can't wait to see it finished

Thanks for the nice comments. :)

Here's some more pics of my weekend labors.

Good 'nuff.

Links won't be glued until paint is on but you get the idea.

The Taigen storage bin is actually close to scale size/shape unlike the Heng Long. Like most of these parts, the detail is meh. I went about cutting off the hatches and other messy details so I can improve and scratch build later. I can't express just how much metal dust and shavings I had to shake off.

Sov,
Great detailing with the tracks hangers. That looks like a lot of work to add the opening hatches on the Rommel Box. Following along.

Did get some work on the car done yesterday. Not much I can do with short days and colder weather. By the time I get out of work it's dark now. I day dream about both.

Little tank update, mostly sanding, filling, etc. My eye doctor said at my appointment yesterday that my eyes looked irritated as if I had allergies. I told him it was probably metal sanding dust. :haha:

Are these welds a good idea? Seems too big in this picture, maybe I'll try to make them smaller.

Teracotta vs Superfine Milliput.

Not sure how I feel about the super fine yet. Once it's hard I'll get a better idea.

Did all these welds in the superfine.

Making lids for the Rommel box was easy enough. I've started on some hinges but that's enough for one day. Although it doesn't look it, the gaps are filled with super glue and sanded. The box is smooth as can be.

Good Afternoon, Sov,
If you thought that your Tiger required detail, you are about to be taken to the outer limits of detailing. *chuckles* You will have an absolute Blast!

Those metal parts are real quality, super sharp moulds etc. This is going to be an excellent Tiger.

Yeah, I keep buying new parts, the best detail I can find. The Tamiya box is full of exciting parts! But I shelved it for now...

I'm still amazed how I can spend so much time doing so little work on the Tiger.

Started building a mount for the nose spare track, soldering and super glue but no pic atm.

Used some spare parts from the Voyager PE and brass rod to "scratch" build some hinges. Too late to do anymore today but the nice latches await me next.
