I used autopilot kit - Ardupilot (APM2.5) with minimOSD and 3DR telemetry. In fact - it's a huge waste because if it stays there with current firmware I'll be using a fraction of it's potental. This board is rather dedicated to fying models.
As far as I know author is working on tank dedicated software. This may change a lot.
In theory with new soft and a few sensors ardupilot may turn this tank into a drone
