Hey Boys,

Well I got somemore done on this beast, slowly but surely she is coming together. Once the baseball season is done, I can bash on more rapidly. Here is the lower hull, a little bit of Zimmerit work on the Asiatam hull, detailed the rear hull plate and exhaust (You'll have to excuse the tape around the exhaust stacks as they have the preliminary paint with some weathering). I also masked off the interior and painted it as well. Enjoy...

Image

Image

You can't see them due to the tape but each stack has the weather flap covers with hinges.

The Mfg. Cast lettering is from cutting them off various Tamiya Sprues and blending them in with Mr Surfacer.

The antenna tube case is aluminum tubing with various PE and styrene details.

Currently, I got a set of Steve's Asiatam Early/Mid Prod Road Wheels with the bearings and sprocket/idlers primed, just waiting for the paint to get in. Finally, I have some other details complete on the upper hull and will post them soon.

Thanks for looking,

Derek

Hey Frank,

I used Milliput and a screwdriver. A bit time consuming but worth it. You coming to the gunnery conference? Hope so!!
Talk to you soon.

Hey Stu,

Thanks for the comments dude, with the RC Stuff, ie. the electronics, etc. yep, I am noob but with the plastic, metal and scratch building, I got some 1/35th scale background. How far along are ya with you Tiger and did you get a good year of riding in?

Later buddy,

Hey Boys,

It's been awhile but have been working on the tank on and off. Now that work is done, I have been steadily putting her together. So far, I have reinforced the upper hull and did all the small exterior detail work. It is ready for priming but will get to that after the holidays. The last two nights, I've built the Mid Prod Barrel Travel Lock, still need to source and/or construct the chain locking mech. Here are the pics, just need to add some Mr. Surfacer and mount it to the hull. Enjoy and Merry Christmas...

Well guys,

It has been awhile since I posted some of my build, been working steadily on some of the major parts and then when I'm on a wait out for paints or parts, I work on the ancillary equipment. I got the Motorcycle chain to work for the Barrel Travel Lock, really nice detail. The lower hull and running gear is painted and clearcoated but you'll see that when I get some additional paint and detail weathering on them. I'll post some pics and add some info captions. Enjoy...

The upper hull is complete less the Schumo Antenna Mount and a few wing nuts. I have placed the Pioneer tools in their respective areas. You'll see in the pics that I have the Early Production headlight mounts white glued in their origional location with the four bolt holes, once the final paint and weathering is done I will pop those off and the Red Oxide Primer will be seen.
Image

With the Pioneer Tools, they are a mixture of Metal and Tamiya plastic. Next time, strictly the Tamiya Plasitic Tools. The wood has been painted using a tip I read on this site, Thank you Hetzer. The metal portions have been burnished with AK Interactive Burnishing Fluid, for the natural metal look.

With the tools, they have been painted, weathered and chipped.

These are the styrene Barrel Cleaning Rods.

I also used the AK Interactive Burnishing Fluid the barrel for the hull MG.

Here is the Barrel Travel Lock complete with the 1/12th scale Motorcycle Chain from Top Studio.

Finally, the Tow Ropes from Schumo. Burished with AK Interactive and weathered and chipped with a hint of rust.

Well, that's her for now, back to working on the turret while I wait out this ruddy Nor'Easter and supplies to arrive in this one hobby store province. Thanks for looking, comments welcomed ((Negative (Constructive Negative) and Positive)). Enjoy...

Derek

By the way, still looking a spare Loaders Hatch Hinge, Sprue G, Part #3 from the 56010 kit.

Hi Derek,

I love your travel lock for the gun barrel. And the idea with the motorcycle chain is noteworthy. Keep up the good work.
