hi saxondog I have been through the reccomended vendors and none seem to have the stug 3 with metal upgrades. They do as you say have the upgrades seperate but I was hoping to save a bit of money by buying all in one.

I have the Torro Professional Metal Edition King Tiger and really cannot rate it highly enough

Beats the Tamiya KT (I know, used to own one) for detail hands down, and the wooden transport box does look VERY COOL

I am a lttle surprisewd though to see Tankzone on a vendors blacklist I have dealt with Kin for a good number of years now, and have never had a problem - I got my Torro KT, Custom edition Panzer IV and Type 99(A), plus a shed load of other bits and bobs for both my Tamiya tanks (now all sold) and my Heng Long/Torro & Taigen tanks.

Ok, so after much research I decided to get the Torro King Tiger Metal Edition (BB airsoft version with camo paint).. I ordered it from the closest proper tankshop that sells the tank I could find, in my case that was http://www.rctank.de .. Dominique from rctank.de was really helpfull with advise and they are gonna build (and test) the tank with many upgrades for me.. I bassicly had 2 options, the first was to leave the HL RX18 electronics and get some upgrades with it, second was to completly gut it and install Elmod with mandatory better remote and the same upgrades.. I went for the first cheaper option, although I will probably get Elmod and 2.4Ghz remote later when I buy my second RC tank (I want a Tiger I aswell).. So I'm getting the Torro KT with upgraded steel gearbox (improves durability and the ride a lot), a proportional HL smokeunit (makes less noise and is obviously proportional), a Visaton 10W M speaker for better sound, and to add to that they will install a Beier Soundmodule for me to improve sound and I can use custom sounds.. in a near future i plan to do the same, i've already talked with Dominique to do the same swap to steel gearboxes

I own a tiger I (i got it from Dominique too) and installed myself a beier soundcard, yo will nor regret this thing! take a look to the new firmware v1.10 if the card didn't come already with it, it adds several improvements (mass inertia simulation, support for IR battling, and you can get rid of this damned jumping of the tank when firing the K button...)

Please, do not forget to post here all the good and bad feelings you get with this cat, i will appreciatte this a lot!

Look at photos number 1 and 2......OOPS......The owner has clearly made a big mistake , in numbering his KT !....So picture 1 on the Mg side of the tank the number is ..1 24 and in picture 2 on the drivers side of the tank the number is 2 41.......its easily done I wonder if he has noticed yet .....having only looked at the Czech site build and translated the last comment with the 'Laughing smilie' the answer is no !...its a pity because he has put so much effort into the build...hopefully he has not yet 'Sealed ' the paint so that he can correct the error....If anyone can please tell him....I will try through the forum page and see if I can get a message across in time....

I just tried to join the hobby havoc forum and its rejected me as a 'Spam' ..... ......I do not even like the stuff ....If anyone is a member please point it out to him once he seals the paint the numbers will be a pig to put right and he has put so much effort into the model....... .......I am just trying to save him..... .....I am not aware of any units who looked at the LARGE number first and then the next 2......BUT......I Could be wrong ......so if I am wrong ,then great ,if not......... then anyone please get a message to him !

Thanks for the info Jussek.. I'll definatly check the new Beier firmware v1.10 out if they didn't install it already.. Especially the mass inertia simulation and anti-recoil look like cool and usefull new features..

more features for the sound card are an usefull "sound simulator", so you can do the adjustements to your own sounds without having to run the tank... believe me, it's a pain in the arse and very time consuming! you can also modify the volume of every single audio track from inside the Sound Teacher software, so no more outer soft to edit and crack up the dB for every sound file...

ah! all this is comming in german, but the ST soft is in english too. The bad thing (if you do not speak german) is the manual, i've translated it to myself and others spanish users, but to spanish...

The Maybach engine sound in this video is awesome.. and the tracksound at 2:05 is cool aswell..

with the card comes a CD with the soft and a lot of different profiles, it sounds awesome straigth out of the box compared with the HL sound... but as always, is far better making all the sounds for yourself, is 'close and personal'. I invested a LOT of hours to get the sound profile to my liking, looking for audio sources on the net (mainly youtube), then downloading them, extracting the audio track from the videos, locating the part i desired and so on...

is not plug and play if you want to customize your sounds, but is something i wanted to do. In the Beier forum there are different people that share their profiles. You can take something from here, something from there, voices from a game (i did), different gun sounds (MG34, MG45, KwK...) and bit by bit making YOUR tank to sound unique

ah, when using audio tracks from videos, you have to watch carefully that in the 'spot' you want to use there are no other sounds that would ruine the result (ussually voices from people...)
