Hi Hetzer. I'm now fan of your work and hope to replicate it. BTW whats a pin wash? I understand what a wash is but whats a pin wash? Thanks! Also for the rust colors, do use Tamiya acrylics or something else?

Said it before but here goes again, fantastic work. One can argue how worn a german tank would get, but I love it. Now make us a video man , so we can se it move about

Jeff, win washes involve just small dabs of very thinned paint in localised areas, rarther than an overall wash. Best used for rust effects and oil stains etc around bolt heads and along panel lines etc. I always used raw umber artists oils for rust as the fine pigments work really well. Also as they are solvent based you can start painting straight away if going over the top of acrillics. The only minus point about oils, is that they take a day or 2 to dry, even when heavily thinned. A good tip is to squeeze some onto thick card board and hour or 2 before use, this will extract a lot of the oil base and allow quicker drying times.

that's a great tip, thanks. I will try out some of the stuff in this post this weekend to get a better depht on my schratches on the KT.
