Started on the figure. That's tricky.

And installed (as shown in the general tread) a gear down.

My job on grinding down the output axel was somewhat poor, so it left a small wobble in the pinion, thus making the gap just a tad on the scary side.

But the speed from stock motor pinion and 10 tooth on the output axel made the tank ( to me) move about great, maybe a tad slow, but I like it.

I have the same reduction gears installed in my KT. Only thing i am wondering, why did you use other pinions?? Looking at you picture they do not mesh correctly, wich will cause a lot of wear and tear. I used the stock Tamiya motors and pinions wich mesh perfectly. To get it to mesh properly, put some paper between the gears and then tighten it, remove the paper and you will have the correct distance between gears ;)

It does provide a lot more torque with these reduction gears, although the concept is so simple, they work a treat!

let me explain. what you se in the pic is the pinion from the outgoing axel on the maxx gearbox, not the motor pinion. I did the blunder of not getting the axel even all the way. I manged to get the tip of the axel just a hair thinner than the inner part, so the pinion has a tiny play, and when thighting down the screw it will lift the front of the pinion ever so slightly, making the gap just a little to much to my liking. So when I drive I don't make any power turns on grass ore sand/dirt ( on pave yes), but large forward moving turns on grass.( oh and I have been racing 1/10 carpet and been into the rc since I was 14, 36 now, so I know about that great little paper trick :-) use it all the time , but as you see, no good here )

Been a while since I did anything now, but just started on something I wanted to do. Not flinging out for brass parts now I did a eco approach on it.
