Hi Chaps , thanks for the comments. This tank was given to a friend of mine a little while ago. If i remember correctly i split it into the 3 sections. I hade the complete turret , the hull and lastly the tracks. Everything was primed in white. I thought it would be easier this way. I just used a patchy finish , it doesnt have to be a uniform white finish. I then simply airbrushed the grey. I went quite heavy on the edges but then i used very fine vertical "stripes" on the sides.
The lower hull was airbrushed with Tamiya red brown paint and a little flat earth. As for the wheels it was simple. Patchy white primer but then i lifted the tank off of its tracks and put it into forward motion. The airbrush was then held in one spot on each rotating wheel and Voila.
I did use Tamiya gun metal on the edges too.
I recreated this recently on a HL Tiger too.

Thanks Chaps. I have a Tamiya 1/16 Panther comming , i wonder if i should do the same to that?!
