Well it seems as if there sorting it out but as for sending you replacement part! There's that many bits broken it seems pointless to me! Beter off sending you a total replacement if they have one and for them to check it and pack like they said in the email if packed rite it should be ok! Let's face it you can order china tea sets from over seas and they manage to get over here ok ! Well I said my bit and it sounds like they are going to sort you out!!

If you can get a refund take it. This will be just an ongoing problem. Save up and wait for an armortek sdkfz251.
Did you pay any customs duty? Lol

Hi mcevoyi,
You were right to be angry, AND you are clearly VERY disappointed... :'( ...but I think that Hans has a very valid point.....the plastic has really broken in an odd way...as he says plastic usually bends...look at the Heng Long Plastic...This kit looks like it HAS shattered like glass...and like old brittle plastic garden furniture does o- ....... The break lines are all sharp and hard edged, there does not appear to be a 'bend' where the plastic goes white etc on any of the broken parts.
So my gut feeling is let Hans sort it out...and probably just ask for your money back and look for a different MANUFACTURER, NOT necessarily a different SUPPLIER...... Hans sounds quite reasonable and the photos DO suport his explanation. Thanks Giving is a VERY important family holiday in the US of A.....I think that it may even out do Xmas !!!
At the end of the day you paid through Paypal....so you are absolutely 'Bomb-Proof' ( Unlike the SDKFZ )...sorry that was cruel but I just couldn't resist it :{ ....seriously though your money IS safe...and Hans does seem to have a good explanation and does seem to be taking action......so give him time and see what happens....If you are really worried about your money then JUST check with Paypal and make sure that there is NOT a time limit....don't go getting your money back from them yet......Give Hans a fightling chance to sort it out.....
Sorry that got a bit long...but its just my thoughts... ( I have never dealt with the company and neither do I know Hans in any way )
Alb.

Short update to relax all lawyers here:
Iaian did request a refund. A full refund has been issued incl. shipping cost to the address on file with Paypal.

Maybe a few of you agree that his approach to his problem was not appropriate. He posted on all forums BEFORE he first emailed me. I think that was not right. It also appears that he might have anger issues that are now public. I am sorry for what happened and I wished it could have been solved on a more rational basis.

Since my customer stated that he wants to build the model I tried to work something out. He now changed his mind because you were all afraid that he would not get his money back.
Well, money is not an issue here, the real problem is that the material of the kit is likely "tired" as explained in my emails to him. Look at the broken parts again...that is NOT "fresh" plastic that bends....

Now what comes to mind? The Dragon kits ! Only time will tell...

So with this on my mind it is now important to inform the suppliers of the weak material to prevent from more problems for other customers. But what the heck, I should care less after reading all the accusations here and on the other boards...let other dealers get bashed here and anywhere else, too. I know for some its just twisted fun !

I would think the plastic got cold, very cold in the belly of an airplane ... Then maybe something fell on it or bashed it. Airplane luggage handlers aren't interested in what is inside the box, they throw stuff. most everything is air freight from one country to another now.
Point is claim should have been logged with the carrier, Including the customs costs. That is what insurance is for.

Tired plastic? um I"m not a plastic type pro but I do know most plastics have a life considerably longger than I will ever live. Why is it that most of these kits do NOT have a reputation for showing up damaged or falling apart??

Taking this public so early in the complaint process and then not being reasonable is a touchy thing. Not my money that is on the line here but I would at least offer the opportunity to have the place where I bought it work something out and make an offer. It is TGiving in the US and their holiday is bigger than Christmas, the fact that there is any response from them shows they care. No way would I answer one of my customers on any question over the Christmas break.

Anyway I would not let this experience sour me getting what I wanted, Seems to be an isolated instance. I have not seen too many of the 250's or heard they been falling apart.

We all have bad experiences, At the end of the day we need to remember that shipping insurance is bought for a reason.
