Thanks much! I made my mind up to do the latch work on the tool racks also. I really am liking this end of the tank hobby, been learning a lot.. It sure beats 35th scale.

The last of the turret parts showed today! they were'nt listed to be here until the 8th of Sept! Jason come thru again!! UPS is coming with my styrene and some more materials today also. Going to be a great weekend for progress!

So much for the yardwork! :haha:

Just couldn't stand seeing the styrene just laying there :P

I figured if I was going to go this far, might as well try making the handles right also...

I understand the original barrel cleaning rod storage is awful, I made mine from Brass, then mounted on the rear engine deck as a lot of the late war panthers/Jadgpanthers did..

I saw your teaser shot, Panther F, I have the same kit... I was thinking of making a Panther F as well as the a variant that mounted the Panzer IV turret, have all the parts, just have to finish a few other tanks :-)

Cheers!
The HL one almost looks better... I am still up in the air on either an F or a II. I have a KT mantlet to do the 88 proto if I can, may just do both

I used stretched spur for the latch handles, and strip styrene mostly. The pry bar is 1/16" steel rod.. I will add the cover chain tethers berfore I shot the color.

Should have time to get to the jack block mount tomorrow...

Turned into a lazy weekend but did manage some more minor detail work on the front fenders, reworked some of the weld lines and finished the jackblock mount.

I did start on the turret, but am going to hold off for a bit to get the Schumo early mantlet later in the week. The bases are almost the exact same height so once the holes were transfered I moved the standoffs from the tam plate to the HL one. I still have to open up the middle of the HL plate yet to make room for the tam recoil

The calico look was gettting a bit hard on the eyes so I decided to shot the red oxide on it to check how the details and weld lines looked. I have been using Floquil acrylic scale primer and love it.

I took and modified the grill screen but narrowing it up with the dremel and running some stretched spur around it to get more of a scale look to it..

I have to drill some small pin hole where I intend to fasten the pin chains later on then will shoot it with a coat of Dunklegelb tomorrow..

I can see this will be a never ending battle of details.. :haha:

I was surf'n the amortek forum for some ideas and came across some crew heater hood stuff that I just had to do. Now originally #321 did not have a hooded fan, which is why I left it red oxide and will be numbering it to give the look of a in the field addition. But I think this will set it off even more so now.

parts fitting..

and finished ready for recoating..
