What I found that works for me when the Airsoft loses power, the symptoms: loss of BB's range, BB's jams and BB's rolling out of barrel. First open the breach of the gun, this is done by holding the joy stick as if your firing the gun but short of firing, the red LED will light. With the Airsoft mechanism removed from it's mounting, use tweezers and pull the rubber seal till it is at the edge and flush with the body of the Airsoft unit. Reassemble the airsoft unit to the turret (the barrel should have never been removed but make sure its fully seated forward in its plastic outer barrel). Make sure when sliding the Airsoft unit onto the barrel it is done smoothly.
If you have taken the Airsoft apart you may want to check if there is any imperfections on the air-nipple where it makes contact with the rubber seal, I had one the had a casting ridge, took it down with some fine wet sanding.

AliExpress has most parts for heng long tanks, and I've had good luck with mato outlet (don't let the name fool ya, they have a huge selection of HL parts) and heng long store. Also ebay. I'd say go to Imex but if you're in the UK the shipping will kill ya. This is the airsoft unit at mato outlet

Hi All

I played airsoft for many years and the BB mechanism in these tanks is just a smaller version of the mechs used in airsoft AEGs. I'm new the the RC Tank game and currently researching which one to buy first. If you have any queries about the firing mech please feel free to give me a shout as I worked on 100s of AEGs over the years so I'm fairly sure I can help with anything from misfires to improving accuracy or range.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress in RC Tank Warfare, I think I will probably go for the HL Challenger II basic to start then upgrade and improve from there.

Also a quick note on BBs, this sounds stupid but believe me I have seen people do it on a skirmish field and they screwed their AEGs. Never reuse BBs, once it's been fired just bin it regardless if it hit anything or not, even the force of being shot from the tank can cause cheap BBs to deform.

Use 0.25g - 0.30g BBs, they will be more stable in flight and only cost a fraction more than the 0.12g - 0.20g variants.

Any decent airsoft retailer or hobby store will stock reliable brands of BBs, I used 0.25g in my AEGs and was paying around £8 for 5000.

Shop around for the best deal.

Regards

Hi Stumpatron - welcome to the forum. Don't forget to introduce yourself in the Introduce yourself section. They're a great bunch here and it sounds like you're about to get yourself into the fine mess that is RC Tanks.

G'day Mr Stum
Great to see you are taking full advantage of the forums history by searching for things that are relevant to your needs and by the looks, specialist skill set.
Good to have you along.
Do a bit of a blurb in the intro section so we have a bit of an idea how to help, and what your scenario is
