Well, I've just about resolved this. I'm getting a refund from the retailer and have just taken delivery of a Tiger I; here's hoping that is a trouble-free experience

I have a feeling I could have been chasing that rabbit for quite some time :'( I really like the look of the StuG; I think it might be a model that I return to some time down the line provided I can find the money - and space

Thank you everyone for the help you provided, I'm sorry that in the end it was for nothing

Come to think of this, i encountered the same problem with my Heng Long StuG III couple of weeks ago(with IR Gun), it just stalled after moving for a few minutes and will not respond to the controller. I switched it off and on again, it will not start up. I gave up on the StuG III, removed its internal battery (which was then fully charged) and the ones in the controller and decided to put the StuG III in my display case and use as static display unit.

After a few days I decided to give the StuG III one last try to see if it's broken. I then put in the battery (now fully charged) and when I started it up, it just did. I then ran it around, fire the IR Gun, recoil unit, stop/start/turn off / turn on, ran it over some minor obstacle and it is touble free now. I was not sure what happenned, it wasn't repair or opened in anyway. I will not complaint as the StuG III now had came back to life.

I have an ElMod system in my Stug, there is room for everything including the battle system.

looking at your photo of the rx 18 ,the wire coming from the receiver board looks like it needs re soldering try that first
these receiver boards are not that good ,if you have range issues replace this first .the rx18 are more reliable units regards
