These next few pics show the odd few sunken screw holes added ,screws made from thin slices of plastic rod ,and chopped in half and then popped into hole spot of glue sorted ,....also added the screws too the second splash guard in the same way, only this time i used .o7mm hex rod for the bolts ,.............and then added the missing screws that will show even when the turret is turned, this simply by just drilling with a1.5mm bit to just scratch the surface,.......all the other holes that are there but can not be seen ,did not add..........

Here on these pics you will see the cooling vent hold ups and the half wing nuts , the half wing nuts from plastic rod squashed and bent and then drilled , the holdups from thin brass first glued to thin strips of plastic card and when dry glued to the side of the cooling vents this way does two things ,it is easier too CA brass to small pieces of plastic first and then glue with plastic glue to the plastic as this makes a strong bond and secondly you then add weld beads to what,s showing afterwards, also i have made the retaining chain for the tow cables and added a small hook , this cable was wrapped around the cable to stop it falling on the exhaust and fouling the tracks,

This selection of photos just show some more bits and bobs, the rear bin holders added with bolts , the bin lids replaced with plastic card ,the hinges from clear card only because it was all that i have at the right thickness, the handle and latches from 1mm square bar ,,the outside cupola sight made from brass , and was bolted down and super glued in situ , also the missing bolt holes and screws added to the turret top, the larger screws were 2mm holes with a slither of plastic card added , also whilst on the turret the rain gutter guards gussets added too enhance there appearance ,.........the bin lids don,t work as the bottom part of the turret is still accessible ,

Jeez that looks good Pete! That PzIV of yours will be a real head-turner when you've finished it.
Cheers

Hi all ,in these pics it shows the track retaining holders ,made from brass and plastic card , a note too all p4 builders the track on the front plate is 7 segments not 6, as on the heng long version, so after i acquired some extra track from Tankman (cheers Alan) i was able to do the front track,.........the pics show the parts made and in position on the track,as these are somewhat small and liable to get hit and lost , i shall glue all holders to the said track and then place and glue all together in situ ,......................

Now too the rear of the tank , it was pointed out to me that the track tensioners that Heng Long have fitted are good but it seems that all have been placed on the wrong side therefore they are upside down ,so the only way was to correct the L shaped handle by grinding this off and making new ones ,so these I made from brass and plastic rod , and the bottom tubes from ally tube ,at the other end of the tank I filled in the space which is not used by the trunnion movement ,simply with thin plastic card,...............................

The next move was the aerial, this I made from 2mm brass rod , turned down the last 2/3thirds,
so the top was down too 1.02mm all this with a gradual taper, then used the mount that came with the tank , drilled down and opened up until I had the right size then removed the bottom part
and now trust that can the aerial will go all the way down this,, then turn 90 degrees into the body ,...........as i shall be using 2.4 gs the aerial does not have to be working,............

Excellent build thread, So much detailed information about the Panzer IV. Really interesting details, very resourceful modifications.
Thanks for sharing,Fleshy I'm sure others like me learn alot from guys like you who create these very detailed tanks from the basic H/L tanks. Really interesting to me.
