Steve has stepped up to the plate for the forum again, get them while they last. ANDY if you look Steve has the Asiatam Metal gearboxes that work well with the lower hull, mine are approaching 2yrs old and many hours of running without a problem. cheers Saxondog

You have to admit the Asiatam Tiger I hull is a very nice setup. 8)

After many hours modifying I am now finally getting My stock HL chassis sorted out and I can see the value of starting with a nice chassis. My Asiatam Tiger I build will begin soon as Phil with RCTankwars.com got my Asiatam metal gears in the mail today! ;D It seems those gearboxes can be tough to get your hands on. I did have to wait a bit for mine but I think it's worth the wait.

Hey Wizard are you talking about the Asiatam metal gearboxes or the brass set? I have the metal(Steal) set and their very strong, and run great if you run-in using the cam grinding compound. Below is a link to a file in my Photobucket album of the drive package for my Tiger S13.

I realized that the after market parts to upgrade the Heng Long Tiger lower hull were going to be costly and in the end nothing is stronger than it's weakest link. Metal control arms attached to a plastic hull is not really stronger considering the strength of the plastic has not improved.

I spent alot of money on my Tiger, being my first Tank I wanted to build a unique Tiger, the lower hull was twice the cost that they are now, but well worth the money considering how much trouble free run time I have enjoyed. It would be nice if they would offer a Panther/Jagdpanther lower hull. The gearboxes in the pictures are the steal asiatam set from Welsh Dragon, after run-in they have preformed perfect through it all, mud, sand, snow, grass, dirt, and anything I have tried has been unable to stall my Tiger S13 with this lower hull/drive package combination

I have the brass 3:1 Aisatam gears. If I have trouble from these I would probably buy the steel. I'm ready to begin my Asiatam build soon. I'm just waiting for my Asiatam road wheels from Phil, they should be arriving any day now.

My stock HL chassis is now sorted out after making some extensive mods. Now it seems I'm still having an issue with my DBCRC2 the tank will run about half the battery and then shut down when it's under a load. As if the voltage is dropping, the Rx gets hits and losses sync. I have an Eagle Tree V3 logger so I need to test my theory on the bench by streaming live data to my computer or by downloading the data after an event during maneuvers. B|
