Nice work mate , I used milliput for my pig mantlet . Putting it over the top of the HL mantlet well with a bit of altering to the stock welded mantlet.

Thanks Andy, there seems to be a lot of altering on this build and I am probably way over my head with the changes I want to do. There should be more parts coming in this week I hope. Shotgun

Hi mate I did lots of reserch into the Stug III before I started my one as you have . Another thing thats often missed of is the hooks that hang down from the citadel to hold the centre of the spare track holder rail. See the pict . I just made a brass bracket with two metal wire hooks. Also near this is what I think are the spare ariel holders , sitting next to the mesh grilles each side 8|

Andy thanks for the rear photos. That's a good point to remember and to use in my build. How did you get the shovel, axe, and the tow hook off? Looks like they are part of the hull, tried using nail polish but not able to get them off. Bought some metal tools to use for the build. I'll try and put some hull work images on the site tonight I did yesterday. Shotgun

Hi I left them on mate just the tow hooks I removed as the S hooks are incorect for my Stug . I just cut them of with a sharp knife . I made working C hook holders , one each side .

Thanks Andy, I guess I will just cut them off and mill putty the mess over. See how big of a mess I can make of that. Shotgun

Here is some of the last photos of the build. Got more parts in, I need to make a battery holder for D-cells to get up to 7.2 volts so I can start lapping in the gears.Hope to start on that Fri. or Sat.. Waiting for the bolts to come to finish the bolt on armor, still have some work to do on the upper hull, removing (grinding) the casted shovel and other tools off. Kinda screwed up the tranny cover, didn't have any thing small enough for bolts, used some brass nail heads, still to large. Then I had the hull up side down of course being dyslexic I glued it down in the wrong offset position. I decided to let it ride, it's under the main hull not very visible. You can see it's there where one is supposed to be just not in right area if you don't look to hard. I was kinda a pain in the ass to make didn't fell like fighting it, if was on top I be redoing it.

Used mill putty for the first time to make a concrete shot deflector. I now know it will turn to steel after hardening, had to grind it down. Learned the hard way to have all your final shaping done before it dries. Saves a lot of work.

Here is another image of the build. Ran up on the 10 image limit. Please excuse my occasional miss spelling as I, mentioned I an dyslexic. And I look at words and they look spelled right. I need to learn to proofread more than once to catch stuff like that. Will post more images as I get work done. Since I am building this from the bottom up, I didn't getting the screws and bolts for the wheel kit. I have an email to Germany, haven't heard back yet trying to buy some. Does any one know where I can buy the screws and bolts for the wheel kit for the stug? Thanks Shotgun
