Re: Battle systems
Hey thanks for the offer Rob.
I've got one in a Stug that screeches horrendously. I know Bubba told me to cut the Orange wire from the sound card to the volume control. But I didn't do this, as I assumed it had a purpose being there in the first place. So I might need your help on that one.
I've got another system still in the box. This one looks like a much later version. The wiring looks heavier duty, more like the ones on the website pic's. I should be ok with this one and will install it together with a brand new R-18 when you have completed your rebuild.
Pete, how are you getting on with yours. Any progress.
p.s. How are both of you getting on with the soung cards ?
Nick.

Re: Battle systems
Hi Gents,
Rob and Pete have been making some real progress on these systems.
I'm going to ask them here to pop a bit of time aside to post their progress so far.
Give us all the low down Boys.
All the best,
Nick.

Re: Battle systems
Hi Guys Nick sent me the RCCommaned Boards that wouldnt work sent Half to Rob (2 Brains are better than one).Had to start checking the boards over found out on the main board that there was a missing bit of the track which stopped the boards working ,so repaired this by soldering a link in ,Then tested the board by its self by plugging it in to a system already installed, along with a Darkith apple to see if it worked, succsess both boards functioned correctly .
Then had to test 2 of the apples and wiring for them ,here is where the fun started first one worked (took hits and fired I.R.)the second one looked like it worked(lights up when going through start up )but wouldnt take hits or Fire I.R.(No wonder you were struggling Nick If you tried to setup with this apple you would be scratching your head for ages )
So after swopping boards wiring harness over and over to see what did work and what didnt found out that one of the apples lights up but dosnt take hits or fire I.R.(make a note of this guys Rccommaned boards and Darkith boards have this strange setup if there is something wrong with the apple even though it lights up it stops the battle curcuit working ).
Next was to have a look at the sound card here some of the tabs where the wires solder to were pulled of had to repair these ,Nick sent me detailed photos of the new sound card had to add another volume switch and capacitor also an extra wire ,then to test again sucsess but it has taken quite a bit of time .The SD card comes with sounds installed which I havnt had chance to look at yet but there is a very good chance that they can be changed or added to this will be the next thing to explore.
