well if they won't take the ball bearing races then I don't think I will be buying a set, because I do not have the equipment to make them take the ball races, nice work on getting the Chinese to listen Dave, but it is a pity that Tamiya don't sell metal road wheels with their 1/16thtank kits in the first place.

yer i hear what you say stew and you are right but for the heng long folks who are on a tight budget the wheels may well do the job there are not many wheel kits that cost £40 out there so maybe we can mod them some how have spoken to fv432 rob and he says that we can mod them to fit the tam hulls to so when i get to look at a set in my hand and see what they have made i will know where we are after all half the fun is in trying :thumbup:

Dave,I think the axle issue is minor.The bigger issue to me is here we have a wheel set that sells for less than half what Asiatam wheel sets sell for.To me it is a long awaited product that this hobby needs and wants.

hi Blake . yer i hope to bring in more affordable items for the generally younger members who want to save their pocket money. to buy things like this its not out of reach at £40. as a kid i would always look in the shop window if only i would think. so i know as do most of us. for the more serious tankers impact and so on is ok i you have the money. but when your 16 that's a lot of pennies to save
thanks dave :wave:

you know - Asiatam offers two different pins for their metal hull roadwheels support. Long pins for the early roadwheels and short pins for the late roadwheels.

Each pin set costs about 5 euro, so that would be possible for you to get some for test.

link is here http://www.asiatam.de/product_info.php? ... umpg0on353" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Asiatam writes : Original Achsen von HL sind zu lang. Nur mit diesen Achsen kann man die Aluwanne einsetzen Translated that means that the original pins are to long, and this set is needed to attach the roadwheels to the Asiatam Metal Hull.

I have the asiatam metal hull with pins for the late wheels, but would like them to be changes to the metal early wheels from forgebear - They will look just great on the tank.

Bottom line - The Asiatam Metal Tiger hull should not be a problem. If the pins supplied is to long, just buy the pins and everything will work out fine

cheers

Dave,I have two complete sets of Asiatam axles,Steve sent them when I purchased my hull.At that time he did not relize nor did I that the Asiatam Hull was designed for there wheels and that stock H/L axles and wheels would not work,Mine as I mentioned were custom made by tapping the control arms and using shoulder bolts for axles.I had a time finding the bolts if not for a friend at a supply company I would not of been able to use that type of bolt.If you need these as a sample send over a small self addressed envelope with my order and I will send them to you.I have both type long and short,the post should not be much as they don't wiegh much.I dont know yet if the WSN set from Oz uses the same diameter axles as the heng long wheels but I will not need the asiatam axles for either set. And most likely I will need a set of wheels for my Jagdpanther which it seems will be purchased from you. Cheers Blake

No problem Dave,I have both sets and will send them over as soon as possible.Their is another issue with the Asiatam axles they are just long enough to fit but they could be a little longer on the end that connects to the control arm.This would create a more stable fit. Maybe 1mm that way if they protrude through the control arm and will be more stable. Cheers Blake
