Hi Stewart looks like you got a bargin there Top job Glyn its a shame you had to sell it but at least its gone to a good home and you know it will be well looked after.

thanks Pete I got a real nice tank of Glyn and all I have done is replace the tow shackles with metal ones and swapped the plastic tracks for metal ones, it is a real great tank to run and once I got used to the way glyn had set up the TX/RX system It runs great.
well worth the money I Paid a fully working kit tank that has been built, painted and run in for less than a brand new kit.

That looks really nice Stu,no wonder you'd like it back Glyn.

BTW Stu,what did you do with those Tamiya tracks?

That is a really good looking Kursk Staff Tiger IE and not to "jack" your thread, thought I'd share it's parallel universe twin.

I got this Tamiya Tiger I tank 5 years ago from a NJ hobby shop that started the build then sold it off unfinished for a song. I finished the build, a friend helped me with the airbrush paint & weathering work, since it was my first 1/16 tank model, though I had been into rc sailplanes and rc buggies for awhile.

Over the last 4 years I have added a Schumo barrel and muzzle break, Axel's gear reduction units, Graupner speed 400 motors with 12 tooth pinions, Daryl Turner gearbox mount brace, blue gear in the turret rotation unit and of course added a Tamiya Battle Unit. It is a smooth running, reliable, model: whether using the Impact metal tracks or the kit plastic tracks. I use either set, depending on the terrain I want to run on. Running metal tracks indoors seems to always get me in trouble.

I took the tamiya Ir mushroom apart to paint it a dark yellow colour to sort of match the colour on S33
here is a shot of it in pieces in the paint shop (kitchen)

looks good, matching mushroom, i like it, i like your idea of paintshop / kitchen, ideal conditions every time.
