This is a special tank.

It was special to the previous owner who I've developed a unique relationship with through a previous purchase. After research I decided if I ever built a Leo I'd want to start with a solid chassis.

There will be plenty more bits to come.

Interesting how they package this one.

And the mystery is solved. But MUCH MORE to come!

That Leopard came supplied with everything but the kitchen sink! I am eager to see more. I noticed that Torro's fancy crate (I love 'em) says this is a UN Leopard 2A6. Will you be keeping it that way? Are UN markings available?

Got her on the bench for a closer look.

and a bit of size comparison with the King

This was sold by Torro De as a winter camouflage. Without trying to sound like a spoiled brat I'm a bit disappointed with their work. It's globbed on in spots so bad that it covers up details.

LOOK at that horizontal paint drip!? :wtf: on the front lower hull :headbang:

Now that that's out of the way. I'm not crying like the whiny kid for the price I paid. The chassis and running gear is just awesome. I have a few ideas. One crazy one is just removing the upper and turret and replacing it with completely brand new Upper for the sale price of $29 and Turret for $119. and starting over. Keep this version and run it in the winter, and paint the other parts on the Nato Green camo that I really want.

The upper for $29? how can I beat that

The turret on sale for $119? I mean c'mon

This project certainly is taking a turn in a different direction.

The TK7.1 board, the barrel servo recoil/elevation unit, smoke/flash and Tamiya tracks have already arrived.

The DKLMRC PDSGB is growing on me-

After more examining and tearing down I've noticed that one of the return rollers is missing :wtf:

I wonder where I can find one of those?

That thing is huge! Too bad on the poor winter paint. I've not stripped a paint job yet (though I've a few that need it) but I think I remember oven cleaner(?) and a sealed bag or tote for a time. Then a soap and water bath.

Ooof, that's some nasty paintwork! That's a pretty decent price to get new, and keep your sanity intact.
