Good oil in the smoker, reset one tube that had come loose, smoker working.
Suspect it was a bit dry.
Of note, at least to me is the new style of smoke generator in this thing.
My JS2 is only 1 year older but it still has the piston type smoker generator, this one has a fan in it and its proportional.
Less rev's - less smoker & vice-versa.
You can have the smoke fluid mate, I dont use them .
I reckon the V3 sound module has had a tweak since the first ones too, start up and shut down is different, as is the rotation and elevation sound.
Just an observation.

The sound of rough mechanical performance is made more noticeable by low or no sound volume.
Every band the gearboxes and tracks made could be heard & if you are new to one of these can be quite disconcerting.
I cant fault the left side gearbox or motor but they were very lumpy.

There is a cable which was knotted & unused.
There are ports available that it can go in, but I am loath to just bung it in & see.
This has the 360 degree slip ring in it too.
Any guidance on this most welcome.

I also discovered the BB chute was loaded & the safety switch was on !
Pinged a BB across the living room.
Another thing I never use so didnt cross my mind to check :haha:

It has the hull retaining system commo0n to all Taigens but the claws on the upper hull that engage the retainer slide are missing or not fitted.
The weight of the metal turret holds the hull down but the claws should be fitted really.
I might have some but its a long shot.

I stand corrected.
There IS a barrel smoke unit in the turret.
There is a fill tube inside the rear ammo loading hatch & I can see the pump inside the left side of the turret.
It is activated by a hidden switch under the turret ring.
I am now going on a mission to see how it works.

Ha!!
The barrel smoke seems to be a standard fitting but is not activated with the BB system, only the I.R. with flash.
So it seems, but until I know for sure, I aint sure !!

Those last 2 pics show the hidden on/off switch that I assume is the barrel smoke unit.
My guess is that cable bundled under the hull is its power source but unless I completely dismantled the turret I won’t know for sure.
Plus I don’t see how a conventional bb unit would slow smoke to be fed thru it ,
Anyone got a set of instructions for one of these MOT in German !!!???

So what’re we trying to figure out now? How the gun smoke system works?

Here is a link to a gunsmoke system I installed on a airsoft unit

https://youtu.be/VpHASKt_4fw?si=ZomDr5slWMkGoAo9

This is all done with HL stuff, but I’m sure the concept is the same with Taigen/Torro. There must be some kind of board that powers the heater and provides power to the air pump when it is triggered. I’m guessing that may be what that wire pair hanging out is for, but it’s going to be difficult to tell without opening up the turret. That color pairing of wires seems familiar to me, but I can find any pictures on my phone showing them in Taigen/Torro models that I have.

Does the V3 have an extra port for powering stuff off the main battery like the TK7.0/7.1? I didn’t think that it did, but I haven’t messed with one in a bit.

No sorry mate, it does not.
