Torro/Taigen tanks (generally the same as one-another) are not the highest priced: that honor goes to Tamiya. But they are generally pricier than HengLong. I used to prefer them over HengLong, and still have and enjoy them, but now the HengLong and TongDe electronics are ahead in everything but sound (and even for sound, they are not bad for the Maybach engines).

Agree with Herr Dr there Taigen were a good step above Heng Long but Heng Long have upped their game a bit these days and are really good compared to 15 or so years ago

Modding the Torro? I'd look at a different board. But since you just got it, get used to it first before diving in that end of the pool. Their smokers are notoriously weak but the King wasn't a big smoker. But I do appreciate some puffy clouds regardless. Now modding the appearance is a whole other can or worms.
