Looks great! what plastic sheeting are you using? I love the look of the top at the back, did you just heat the plastic sheeting to give it that rippled effect? looks like a fabric covering. Can't wait to see this done :D

Cheers mate.
The sheet is Evergreen styrene available from most good hobby stores either on line or in person.
The rippled effect you can see is the plastic tarp part that is in the standard set up on the E1 when you buy it.
I secured it in place on the hull & used it only to support the new sheet sides & roof.
The battery hatch on top needs to be cut thru the lot so its going to test the cutting tools a bit !

Appreciate you looking in ;)

Hull is secured & ready to detail.
Engine hatch is on & opens for access to battery changes. The front hatch is for show & has not need to open.
I do have the windscreen section ready to go but wont fit that until the rest of the detail work is almost completed.
Its coming along slowly.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this comes out. The cheap little VW Bugs from Banggood were so much fun all these inexpensive RTR models have definitely piqued my interest as possible projects. No idea how you found this one but it is definitely an intersting subject

Thanks Mr Mechaniker , is a bit of an odd subject but one that cannot now be unseen !
I stumbled over it really while in search for something else, but once I saw the Transnistrian version and the E1 was so cheap, seemed to be a match made in Heaven !!

Heres a version for sale..............you get the idea its a rugged motorhome/RV now !!!!

These affordable little guys popped up or became more popular in FB tank groups about 2 years ago. WPL makes em I think, at least thats what the Taigen site says but they're out of stock there-

Yeah, they are a WPL E1. I have one pretty much new in the box sitting in my closet. I think initially they sold well, but there were a lot of folks disappointed with the scale not being close to 1/16. I was a little disappointed because it was closer to 1/20 scale than 1/16 if I remember correctly.

18th apparently but its not the end of the world.
For a gimmický project its not really a deal breaker.

Got a few more bits on.
Made a gunners hatch for the rear compartment that opens to accommodate a figure down the track.
The fixed camo net will cover all of any detail so no point getting to elaborate with things, but I will still fit tools & tow cables etc.
Chucked together a pintle tow hook from leftover god knows what bits that make a near enough rendition so thats a tick.
Still a bit to do including the roof mounted weapon so on with it we go...............
