I too have seen this guy and I have also question him as I have many of the stls he is selling models of from the designer many of us use.

My question was why are you selling these as printed models, the files are for personal use only. I know this because I have bought the same files from the same designer.

The answer I got was he had some sort of arrangement where a % was paid for each model sold using that design.

Naturally I am sceptical of that as we all know what China is like for copying or stealing other people designs but I didn’t press the matter further as I couldn’t be bothered to continue arguing with an idiot

That really doesn’t surprise me, it is the main reason most of us will only sell the part rather than the files. But those of us on here at least that do buy files only use them for our own stuff

If we are talking about the designer Inkor, yes this guy has some agreeement and is allowed to print them (or at least, that was the situation last time we discussed this on the discord)

We are talking about inkor. But I still hate to see him being ripped off in the sense that he has put all those hours in for our enjoyment and to print at home the someone comes buys all his designs starts making them commercially. Some get no justice in the print quality. Then when found out seeks an arrangement

ow, I agree with that. But it is Inkors decision to make that deal. There are also lots of people who dont print themselves of course. But I have read several times the printquality is not up to par to the price this guy asks. It is cheaper to buy your own printer and print a lot more tanks, much more fun too

I just hate copiers that don’t even try to make it their own. Don’t miss understand me but many of us here will use each others threads for reference and go yeah I think I will put that bit on mine or I think I will try that paint and so on but the end result is always our own rather than a copy or just a plane rip off. My mrs has the same problem with instagram and her nail art designs. She can spend hours sitting there doing a design the 2 day later some chump with no imagination or skill has done a direct copy rather than coming up with an inspired design of their own.

yes cool printer I just keep working with my Ender 3 max, and wait and wait, but still it prints well (if I have the time)

totally understand, the creative people will always have the disadvantages as there are more people that copy them, than original creators anyway.

I am still struggling with 3D design, but slowly made some extra parts for my tanks. Maybe some day I will even have my own designed tank (or truck or jeep)
