RCTank.de has Taigen Stugs in stock. He will take the 19% VAT off so that should cover most of the shipping to the US and for you fortunate folks who buy using USD that's quite a nice little unit with the Schurzen. They are the airsoft versions but that seems to be what a lot of people want

Very nice. Unfortunate they’re air soft only.

Well now that you've found one, swapping the IR battle system from Taigen can't be that difficult. Of course it will cost more but this hobby never seems to get less expensive, as with any proper addiction.

Buy a Clark TK22A airsoft board with PZIII sounds and an emitter with from here and a cheap hobby grade radio like an FS-i6 from Amazon and you can IR battle Heng Long or Tamiya protocol and have a way better operating tank than the V3 board. The Taigen IR system is pretty useless anyway.

Is the Taigen IR not HL compatible?
I’d consider swapping the board, but honestly wouldn’t know how to do it!

No.
First there is the initial stage of fun just driving an RC Tank with BBs. That wears off quickly. Then comes the hey I can improve this with painting and adding on details stage. Then comes the upgrading gearboxes and tracks etc. stage. Next is finding people or a club where you can battle and if you really get into that then you want a new board and radio and even more expensive upgrades, then upgrading to Tamiya IR protocol so you need to buy more emitters and battle unit bases and apples. So that is how I started with 2 airsoft metal Taigens found our club and then figured it was easier for me just to buy a Tamiya Tiger FO kit and build it. Hooked me which led to 8 more Tamiyas, 3 more Taigens and 2 Heng Longs. All either stock Tamiya or upgraded with various Clarks to Tamiya battlers, each with it's own dedicated radio and even apple. Yea it gets pretty crazy and I haven't regretted a single dollar I've spent

That all sounds brutally familiar, although the Clark stage is still a bit aways. The Tamiya stage is alas, a stage even further in another galaxy. You know, the one where my wife isn't the supreme ruler. And she has been a very good sport for the last 39 years!
