Complete (ish). Mod to the turret (gee I'm sure I saw this somewhere before).



Another complaint on the HL is it's turret/bin. I intend to rework the HL bin for this project.
The bins actually stand off from the turret.



Which means an alternative lifting method. This time I thought to modify the rotary ramp style.







Less depth in the hull and far less radius than the other style lift mech.

Genius is a bit of a stretch, how 'bout creative? Because this will be pushing closer to the pivot point, I did change the cam profile. It also allowed a generous cam follower (lifter/tappet).

Love the cam follower idea. But, won't it take up a lot of space within the hull?
Could you not have used one of the Sherman elevation devices?

I did on the Panzer III (underneath too). Not enough room in turret if hatches will be functional. With the flat floor there is plenty of room (even on the PzIII).

The motor with the cam for up and down barrel movement that's usually in the back of turrets has been moved to the under side of the turret, and held in position by plasticard covering the turret rotation ring. A rod with a mushroom head follower is able to move up and down through a tube in the plasticard, the mushroom head will sit on the cam wheel edge, and get pushed up and down with the small rod following suit through the hole. The portion of the rod with the mushroom head will no doubt have a spring to help the mushroom head fall back down and maintain pressure on the cam.
The end of the small rod that goes inside the turret will be attached to the BB or recoil unit.
