Put on an intensive cycle in the dishwasher.

My wife pretty much supports my tank "habit" but I just showed her your pic and quote and she said ahhhh NO to that

Domestic appliances have many uses. The fridge, must contain beer. The freezer, ideal for contracting bearings. The oven, expanding engine casings, or expanding bearings. Dishwasher, cleaning parts. Old tumble dryer, fill with gravel for removing paint.
When I lived on my own, I restored a couple of motor bikes so all these technologies were used. She would visit to find parts of engines in the oven, and freezer. So she knew what she was getting. Only destroyed one dishwasher.

Never get caught using the oven at a low setting, say 120 degrees Fahrenheit, to dry enamel paint on metal.

I may be able to get back onto this.
After spending 11 days holiday “Darn Sarf” installing new windows, plastering, replacing showers, and catching up wi mates. We got home last night. Even the traffic light god were with me.
Collected my old pillar drill, and now need to find which neighbours various part have been delivered too. And locating the parts the mussis has hidden from me for Christmas, I may get some time on this week.

Ahhh real life gettin in the way of therapeutic "tanking"...

I know the feeling. That's why it's called a hobby. If we did it professionally it would lose it's luster and no longer be fun. Enjoy family, friends and life first. Tanks can wait. I'm pretty sure these things aren't biodegradable.
I look forward to your progress.

Wife has gone to the pictures, so I get a little bit of me time, before cooking a mushroom risotto for her.
Work has started on the turret, by dismantling it.

An un-used HL recoil was taken apart and modified to use a servo to operate it. As per Mr Imcq11. I have a regular sized servo for this. Because that is what Mr Imcq11 has used. A linkage will be made from the removed parts.

Next the barrel was cut off from the mantlet. I did think I may have been a two part assembly, but no matter who hard I tried it would not come apart..

The mantlet was filed out, and the whole shebang was dry assembled. This still needs to be adjusted as it is still tight. I now need to get a washer, as along with other inabilities I am incapable of making a circular opening.

This is precisely what I needed to learn for adding servo recoil for another planned build. Thank you MeterRat for showing how to!
Now Mr. Rat, what's this about mushroom risotto on the menu?

Yes 7.1Board. Hopefully, if the missus has got the correct one. Apparently it has arrived, as she was stuffing her face with Haribo’s the other day.

As I said. The recoil is based on what Imcq11 does. First time for me. Not to steal Mr Imcq thunder.
Off topic, but as Mr C asked. Mushroom risotto.

I now have to work out what to do with a surplus recoil unit.
