thanks Mr. Bix!

in the meantime I started to make minor modifications and paint a few figures of tank riders

but the first thing to do was to improve the resin cast of the PPSh-41 submachine gun...

...and immediately an young and promising comrade Sasha took it up to evaluate it... :D

Image

the second was a modification of the standard Mosin-Nagant rifle to a sniper version by adding scope, bolt handle was replaced with a longer bent version not to interfere with the scope above the chamber during reloading and also the barrel was replaced with a metal one...

here already painted

and here are the individual boys in color...

Image

and this last poor fellow hasn't got a gun yet, he's only got two magazines...
so according to the instructions he has to follow a comrade who already has a rifle and shoots, and when this one gets killed, he grabs his rifle and shoots... :wtf:

And your wizardry continues! When I saw the first photo of the cooling sleeve for the PPSh-41, still flat, I though it was the target at which the submachine gun was fired. :haha: And then I saw various weapons with hands! Wow! Modeling creates some bizarre worlds.
Laughs aside, you certainly do impressive work, and the figures will be such a great addition to your amazing T-34/85.

thanks Herr Doc, glad you like it :)

I decided to give a try to my first sculpting attempt.
Apart from the hands and the tanker helmet used from another figure, the rest is my attempt to achieve the goal...

a small skull to start with...

Is there anything you can't do? Wow! Your new commander looks angry: Grrrrr! He may become a Hero of the Soviet Union.

and here already almost finished figure...
still some additional sanding here and there to correct surface imperfections needed IMO

And here is the current state of T' after some weathering...

The time to hang up some of the obligatory junk will yet to come I believe, but I'm still not sure what exactly I'm going to choose...

Hopefully I'll be able to stuff the driver's torso under the opening hatch, and I'd like to cast a copy of the commander before I start painting. But I lack the experience and equipment for that yet, so it will probably take forever.
