Its a nice looking model, but to say that its a bit rubbish at pulling would be a considerable understatement

Thanks Mr C, its no majestic work in brass that your M1 is, but it might at least represent an example of a protagonist in a current conflict that affects us all in one way or the other.

Now that would be a hell of a thing to partner up with this project !!

Why do i do it to myself ??

Choosing models that require a lot more piss-farting around than normal
The tank itself is an out of the box with a few bits removed, but the Cope cage !! its a mission alone.
Im determined to use stuff I have to hand, and the cage armour can be rough & inconsistent as Im sure the majority of them are/were.
Soldering the lot together will be a challenge for sure.
Making sure its also robust enough to withstand the usual handling issues associated with a sticky-outy add on like this.

A cardboard template is to at least give me a loose guide on placement but the actual methodology required to make the damn thing is er, still in development

Solder paste is the best invention for us tank builders since the invention of Rc tanks !!
Not easy to get the right amount of heat V's stopping heat soak to other bits, but its worked.
The base frame is almost done.
A couple of braces to add then the bars.
It will need to be lowered a bit once I decide the final look of it over the MG and hatches etc.
A quick add up of lengths compared to my available material means another trip to the hobby shop I'm afraid

Neat work from the master brasster. Probably more effective than the real deal, too!

Haha!! Unfortunately it’s seems so!
The bars are going in now, have to use super glue as heat transfer is too great.
I also won’t have enough brass stock by a long shot, so will be a delay until I get to the hobby shop

This build is taking off like a rocket! The brass is exemplary! Do the new Airshot cannons seem better than the ones from back in the day? I've had some real corkers that would injure people and then some that required a rebuild to even work.
