Thank you Mr Rainford, I will let him know.
I am a bit worried about going into this thing to do the repair, and if what else I might find when I do , but if more arms are needed, that’s a bridge to be crossed at that time.
Thanks again mate, you are a life saver !
Please do post some pictures of the panzer in need of repairs before and after surgery
Well now that its been 2 years, thgis project is back on the books.
Turns out every arm and upper was broken & the failure was inevitable rather than my sole incompetence that caused the failure.
Not much less guilty feeling but at least now the repair is under way I can clear my soul.
The owner made an actual sizeable investment in the set from DKLM.
Absolutely magnificent it is too.
BUT, the DKLM upper arms DO NOT FIT Aisiatam lowers.
Turns out this has had a modification done to accept the "better "suspension but broke none the less.
I have had to get bushes from Aliexpress and then heat them up & melt them into the nylon arms to get them to recess enough to be the same dimensions as the OEMs, but, then drill out the arms to take remodeled countersunk screws to retain them.
These will be retained by nylock nuts inside the hull & hopefully be durable enough to last into the next generation!!
Got ‘em !!
Rolls perfectly and is lighter too.
Was a bit of creative language along the way but the result is worth it.
Nothing my Daughters haven’t heard for their entire lives, so maybe it’s time for new material!!
The hub and pivot caps can be fitted once he paints them
