Thanks for the kind words folks, I feel like a bit of a butcher slicing up the static kits interior but at the same time I guess at least it’s getting used!
I’m not the first here, a friend from the club, handle stug85 did this conversion with the Mickey Mouse turret t34 and has gone an su 100 too irc! Sadly he doesn’t post on here any more as he does some stonking work!
I did try to retain some interior on both my T34/76 43 and SU100 builds where hatches could be opened but neither retained the drivers cabin in that sort of detail. As ever, space is at a premium, even in the barn like main cabin off the SU but cables, servos, receivers, audio units and speakers and a big enough battery to power it all.... okay, just excuses!! Nice build Tom.
A big update on the t-34. I finally pulled my finger out to get the build part finished. As with the t72 this but is generally following the instructions with a couple of changes. The main one was to make the hull mg functional, but retain the interior detail. To this end I cut the end off the mg where it goes into the ball mount and then used clear plastic tube for the barrel. In the armoured cover I put a heavily thinned 3mm orange led. The wires for this run though the body of the machine gun and out into the hull, disguised as best I could.
The head light had a nano led fitted. Aside from this the rest of the build was by the book. The kit quality is spot on and the details very impressive.
I managed to dig out some figuees which seem to fit ok despite being for the 85mm variant.
I've tidied up the wiring inside too. I'm impressed with how it runs, even on grass there are no thrown tracks and its got good control despite the standard ratio gears and metal tracks.
