After watching an M10 firing with the playback slowed down, barrel and breech recoil is doable. Less of the gun visibly recoils than I thought.

Digging through my tub of Sherman's, I found the Vandra kit I bought years ago. Only a few of the parts will be usable. Mainly the 3 inch rounds for the ready racks, and the gunner's traversing wheel. I'll have to check other parts, but I was informed by someone who built the kit that many parts are inaccurate.

Mato got the whole structure behind the gun shield wrong. It will have to be redone. Hopefully, the correction, along with the correct gun shield, will allow the gun to depress. Stock, there is only, maybe, 1° of depression, since the bottom of the undersized shield hits the turret. It can't even lay the barrel in the travel cradel.
Real turret, taken from the VMMV M10 restoration site. It is ridiculously difficult to find pictures of the M10 with the gun removed showing what's behind the shield.
I don't know which is worse, this, or their sorry excuse for the M7 3 inch gun.

Well, hell. I'm out of Schumo Sherman detail sets. So I can't replace the much too thin Mato lift rings. But, luckily I already replaced the rings on my M36. I can scrounge them from that, and if I attached them too securely to remove without damage, I can just swap the hulls.

I've done quite a lot of digging and never saw THOSE pictures! Keep up the great work.

While looking for pictures online of 601st M10s, I came across a few pictures of the 601st after they re-equiped with the M36. A few of them have T49 tracks with extended end connectors. I think I'll put a set on my M36 when I refurbish it.

If you go with extended track connectors (duck bills) you'll have to decide how much of the "under hangs" will have to go. Yes I have three TD's but one of my favorite things about them are the under hangs. So I saved my extended tracks for other builds (the Jumbo and really heavy M4A3).

Just like on the real TDs. I found my set of T49, but it has standard connectors. I might use them instead, since I have them. I can't afford a new set right now, and I also like the underhangs.
