Pink Floyd made it public in 1973 in the song "Time" on the album "Dark Side of the Moon" of which I have one of the first 100 off the press, cost me £1.50 at the age of 14, yes, I overpaid at the time, just to get one of the earliest prints for the extra goodies and different paper sticker on the centre of the album lol. But a lot of bands/singers use common sayings they've heard and add them into songs.

Actually, that's not true, well, not totally, until the day you die, your body is regenerating, making new cells for most of your body and some organs, although it slows down as we get older, hence aging, if it didn't, we wouldn't reach old age, but that being said, apparently the brain is the exception to that rule, it stops producing new cells and growing at around the age of 19, otherwise if it regenerated like the rest of your body, everything you learnt would have to be re learnt on a yearly basis.

It doesn't have to be depressing:

I like your footer EAO. My father became a refugee in Germany before the end of the war. Germans took them in and handed over part of the town, including the school, to the Estonian Displaced Persons Camp. As a result he likes the country, the beer and the food. Our dogs were all German Shepherds. He owned several air-cooled VWs and currently owns a BMW R1250RS. Me too - I have a Jetta and a Polo, and a R1200S. My daughter has a Merc 250 GLA.

I always love how these posts diverge and wander to strange places as the comments take us for a ride. Never know where you'll end up! I'm really not that depressing, pessimistic definitely, but not too depressing. Always been a fatalist, and getting close to my Bday always puts me in a bit of a funk.

Son of a gun-ner, the Floyd album is one keepsake to cherish. Very, very cool to have still hung on to it after all this time. I have sold or given away some awesome stuff over the years that I'd give just about anything to have back now. For the last 20 years or so I've been much more careful in deciding what to keep and what to let go. Ask my Wife, and look at the garage and my basement! As for our amazing bodies, I think my brain is still growing as I seem to have to learn everything over nearly yearly as it is! At least where computers and electronics are concerned! Several near traumatic brain injuries along the way hasn't helped anything either.

Estnische, cool story about you're Dad. I went to school with a family that was originally from Lithuania. They too had a German village put them up after the end of the war. As for the German vehicles, I've had a 2005 BMW F650GS Dakar, 2009 BMW GS1200A (finally quit riding as my body doesn't put up with it anymore), a 2010 BMW X5 D, and a 2017 X5 D. We currently still own a 2020 X4 M and I've still hung on to my beloved 2007 Z4 coupe.
