That whole deal shouldn't cost you more than about 25 or $30, but it will save you millions in frustration. If you want to change over to the V1 version of the taigen Electronics I can sell you the mfu and the transmitter for $30, plus probably about $15 postage from Detroit to Maryland. For an extra $10 I'll even throw in an anti track recoil device.
Thanks for the offer, but I need the opinion of you guys: Is this worth it? https://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/p7 ... h_the_on%2

Could I plug and play a Heng Long on this?

[quote="General Jumbo01"]Simply replacing the Multi Function Unit (or MFU) with a newer version or another make is usually not a simple plug and play procedure. Is our new member up to or wanting to get involved in rewiring potentially the whole tank? I/quote]

Don't you think it might be a good idea if you posted a photograph of the mfu and transmitter. If its 2.4 then there are several combos, black plastic trannie is v3.0, black plastic trannie with silver labels are v5.3, same but with golden labelled mfu is v6.0. I'm not sure what came before v3.0 but it had a trannie with a metal carry handle. If we don't know what system it is we can't advise what is easy/possible to switch to. Until you do this we'll just be p*ssing in the wind
and giving you wrong advice.

I’ll offer this option. I can send you a free Taigen V3 mfu with a speaker and the transmitter. The sound card is for a Leopard 2 but those are replaceable. The track recoil can be turned off with a switch. If you want it just send me your shipping address. The money you save can go towards other tank goodies.

If the present mfu is a HL v3.0 then, weirdly, the Taigen v3 is, l think, plug compatible except that the left motor lead goes in the right socket and visa versa. That generous offer could be ideal?

That's the best offer you're gonna get. You'll still have to rewire, but you'll have to do that no matter what you do. As for the sound card, the Pershing sounds aren't out yet, but when they do come out it's a simple matter to swap out the sound module.

I suggest you go to U-Tube and type in
"New Taigen V3 Tank Board/MFU Installation"
Ten minutes of how to put a new board in your tank.
Worth watching.
