Was painting a heap of 75mm shells and thought why not get some for the KT and Tiger. 9 shells and 3 spent cases for£43 would be better off buying the Trumpeter KT 1/16 static kit. Say 12 shells so its £43x7 thats £ 300 and more than the Trumpeter kit. 75 mm shells for the Panther come in at £9 for 5 and £19 for the 6 HE rounds and thats without the decals. The panther kit has 85 shells and the decals for each one. Had another look at whats in the Panther kit. Most people use the plastic barrel ( less strain on turret ) turned 2 piece correct Al barrel, PE star aerial, Pe side skirts and brackets, PE grills, 2 mantlets, 2 exhaust types and more. Suppose Shapeways know most people don't want the extra work making extra add-on parts and charge accordingly.

Woz is right, when a member uploads the model, the system asks which materials it can be printed with. The member selects them, and the Shapeways upload tool calculates how much material/print time etc. The member can then add as much or as little commission as they want.

The base Shapeways price without commission is already high, so no one is going to get rich on there as the sales volumes won't be high.

A badly designed part will require more material and print space than a well designed one, which is why some parts on Shapeways are so expensive.
