The button that I have on mine is what pairs the module with a phone, it's making sure that the other wires are hooked up the correct places on the 5 pin plug that goes into the Elmod board that is theh challenge. Just need to make sure that the right signals are going down the right wires, to the right contacts at each end.

The module itself is unlikely to be anything special, I can't see Elmod re-inventing the wheel.

Another possibility is that the drivers that the Chinese board needs for cloned chips may be different to the genuine Bluetooth boards, I had this problem with the DasMikro sound boards, but when I got hold of the correct drivers they worked perfectly.

You are right, I dont think the Elmod reinvented anything...

Im 99% sure I wired the module correctly. Look I even took the same color wires (except the white, that is orange in the original module)

Also I tried infinite combinations and really, nothing happened, so it is safe.
What I think I am missing is that button, that also changes the baudrate.

Are you connecting a) Rx to Rx and Tx to Tx, or b) Rx to Tx & vice versa? It should be wired b)

Hi. Usually all connections like this are RX to TX.
But due to it did not work, I tried both ways.

Still does not work, lol.

Are your boards HC05 or HC06? Do you get any LED indicators when you power the Bluetooth board? If so, is it steady or flashing, & if flashing what frequency/sequence do you see?

I ordered an HC 05 that I installed in the radio.
Then I ordered the other one, that I think is HC 05 too, but came without the button, thats why I dont know exactly if it is HC 05 or HC 06.
At the beginning when I plugged it, it blinked very fast.
Then I bridged where the switch was supposed to be, and blinked way slower.

And I had no time to test anymore.

Ok, I managed to install a small switch in the module. Not sure how to pair it, but the mobile phone finds it as an HC 05.

The elmod app finds it too, and with that name, but it wont connect...

There's a lot of information about hooking up these bluetooth modules with standard Arduinio boards on the www. If I remember correctly HC05 can be master or slave, HC06 only slave. It would be interesting to see what happens if one of the Elmod bluetooth modules was connected to a native Arduinio board and 'interrogated'.

Also, I am wondering if the Elmod module is running customised firmware ?
