I love modern Soviet/Russian armour, and that is a work of art!

The paintwork, addons, and rear covers up. Brilliant work.
What tool did you use to cut the rear vent cover? Tips and tricks?

A Stanly knife, a small Dremel cutting disk, woodfile (they have bigger grating than metal files, and are better on plastic) and Time... a lot of time..and patience.
Drill a hole in the corners, and start cutting from there. If You got a steady hand You could drill all along the edges with a 1mm drill, and pop the covers out, and then file and file, and file... until it’s reasonably smooth.
Then just cut the covering flaps from 1,5 mm styrene and glue them on top at an angle with a few blobs of thick CA, or go ‘de luxe” and make hinges from metal wire.
