Now you're cookin', Will! 8)

I really like that exhaust. Great work. You've got me wondering if I could somehow make a fuel tank into a smoker. Tap into the exhaust behind the tank where it can't be seen, but where to put the fan?

I doubt it's possible, but if you could drive the fan off the main motor in some way, you would not only have the smoke, but proportional as well.

Small micro motor plumbed into main motor with tiny fan and stick inside one of the boxes ;)

Just seen a website that has given me a cracking idea, as when I was in Ukraine last year, I kept noticing that the large Gaz and Ural trucks often had tasseled curtains in their cabs, usually as sun blinds and in the side windows, and decided to see if anyone made suitable doll's house curtains that could be converted to the task- and there's a website that actually makes curtains for RC trucks!

http://www.dollshousecurtains.com/

They currently make curtains for 1/14 and 1/24 trucks, but you can submit your measurements to get your own set tailor- made. It may look a little weird for military vehicles, but for civilian builds, curtains would really add that authentic East European/Slavic touch...

I note with interest that there's a sort of UK fan base for the GAZ-66 here:
http://gaz66.co.uk
and with many useful links including specs and drawings e.g:
http://gaz66.co.uk/Specifications.html

Hope you don't mind, Will, but I'm with Gary on the suggestion your contributions will have a greater impact, and will be easier to access, if you post pics here directly. Imgur is one option, as he suggested, and there are others.
I post directly from my Mac, and that's fairly easy to do too....

Its interesting, but also a pain that i have taken interest in these trucks, so i am doing another couple builds and doing something different again.
But one detail keeps bugging me on the GAZ. It is the lack of wheel arch on the rear truck bed! So now thinking of ideas to put them in.
I will share pictures once i got somewhere, but these next builds i want to keep close to my chest until i can see if they will work or not. More ambitious builds now
