Just some news that came apparent tonight at the club, if you are going to use Klear and you see it in the supermarket, get a couple of bottles in stock as the manufacturers are going to drop this product soon. I don't think there is another product in the UK that directly replaces this so if this goes, it is a crying shame.

if you guys do try this method why not post your results ? so we can see how its going.................oz
Oz,

Well I gave your method a bash. I had already base coated my Tiger with Tam XF - 60 in preperation to give it a three colour Normandy camo scheme. As it was a blank canvas so to speak, I thought I would give it a go. Its the first time that I have used an AB.
Do you think I could still add the dark green and red brown over the top of this for the Normandy scheme ? Or should I respray it over with XF - 60 ?

I know this was meant to be for a dark grey scheme, but I thought what the hell, I would like to give this method a go.

Cheers

hi STEINER.
that looks great when you put the camo on top lighten it the same way as you did the base coat, if you are a novice with the airbrush then all i can say is !DAMN!  :D  i know i said this was going to be panzer Grey but i,m really tempted to put a winter camo or yellow camo  through it. gonna think about it but i can see changes on the horizon...............oz

Thanks Oz

I have followed your methods to the letter, using the paint and thinning ratios that you suggested. This is a great tutorial and I look forward to the next installments.

Cheers.

i,m gonna put a yellow camo through my tiger but the steps in the washes are the same, i,m gonna go off topic for a moment and show you what the tank should look like when its glossed over, it should be very glossy (pic,21) this will make the oil wash flow better seal the paintwork in and the decals wont silver or frost at the edges.

steiner, saying you have zimmerit on your tiger you would be best off spraying it from different directions and angles so the gloss coat gets into all the nooks and crannies of the zimm, get it looking like this, one-more thing reference the pastels make sure they are chalk pastles and not oil pastles............oz

Oz,my original idea was a winter type camo, where you have the browns would be a lighter shade of gray and where you have the yellow lines would be white. What do you think about that type of camo?

Oz,

Out of interest how many coats of Klear did you mist on to get to that stage ( pic 21 ) and how long do you give in between coats ?
I take it, the lower hull, suspension arms and wheels all get the klear treatment.

Cheers.
