The Trumpeter kits (1942/1943) are perfect for the conversion, as they have the same size turret ring, and you can use all the details parts (interior and exterior) to supplement the Heng Long kit.
Nice freehand air brush camo Carl........ You have two little ones ? Even more impressive.

Yes indeed my friend two cute children and luckily a great Mom! I actually let the paint set before I added the filter and wouldn't you know it.....my electric clothes dryer broke down

......

so I tore it apart and pulled out my trusty ohm meter checked 5 different things and figured it out. Crisis averted
Took me away from the tank but that's OK sometimes chaos clears the dusty brain. ( whatever is left of it)
Yes this upper hull is detailed down to the engine showing through the grills on top of the engine deck

Plus the interior of the turret it's amazing.
Still have to do an oil wash tomorrow and add the detail bits
No rush of course I'm sure something else will break down around the house!

Thats soo confusing to the mind !!..................
Brain understands "Russian Tank-T34-76"
Brain tells eyes to see said tank in 4BO green
Eyes tell brain that its Tri-colour German
Brain says "Oi........some things are just Green ok" !
- Kermit D Frog
- Shermans
- T34's
- $100 notes
Nice work Mr Rainford.................even if it does short-circuit the minds eye

Thank you Mr Bix

As I am normally somewhat confused this now makes total sense to me

Maybe for that reason along with attempting to improve the original Russian designs.....the Wehrmacht decided on more traditional German colors and patterns with the addition of schurzen plates and bits their men were familiar with
I've yet to get some markings and balkencruz for this one but it will end up being from the Das Reich division and will represent one that would have done battle at Kursk.
Thanks Herman

Carl!,
It is really coming along. Beautiful paintwork, Doc. While I am thinking about it, do not forget the little red tail light that goes in the center cutout right behind the grill in the rear. Lots of folks do not bother with it but it is a rather cool add on when done. Following along.
regards,
Painless

You don't muck around at all, do you Carl? I'm impressed with how quickly you've turned this around. Great work on the camouflage, the filter ties the three colours together really nicely.
Are you planning on loading the fenders up with stowage? It looks like there's glue residue or something on the hull sides, will that all get covered up?
