I see... I dont want to derrail the thread, but you can install this board http://smartieparts.com/shop/index.php? ... cts_id=383 in your 9x, and then you can install a very powerfull software to your radio. If you want some info send me a PM, I dont want to make an offtopic here.

The IBU2U looks a better option now than the IBU3 , why is the IBU3 £60 more expensive, what real benefits does the IBU3 have over the IBU2U.

Hardware wise
Auxiliary servo output
Higher power smoker control
Second machine gun output
Computer connectivity (I know not everyone likes this but others do)
External esc support

Firmware wise
Admittedly at the moment the IBU2U has the edge, but the the IBU3 will get updated firmware to have same and more features.

Plus the IBU3 is designed to also control other RC models like half tracks, wheeled vehicles, boats and larger scale tanks.

I've often wondered what market role the IBU3 is supposed to have, or who its target demographic is supposed to be. It costs more than an Elmod Fusion Pro, but has less features and functionality. Anecdotally, its development and launch seem to have been a mess; given how many threads about dud boards, firmware bugs and sound issues we've seen.

I feel like the IBU2 was (and still is!) a fantastic mid-range product in a sweet spot; more powerful than the cheaper Clark TK20-series boards, but cheaper than the more complex Elmod boards. I don't know what the IBU3 is supposed to offer, so now that I want to upgrade from the IBU2 I'm looking elsewhere.
