Does the red warning light illuminate when you push the stick up in 'fire' mode? If it doesn't than it's further evidence that the live (red) wire from the on/off switch is the source of the problem, as the warning LED is on the same circuit. You could by-pass the switch to see if you can complete the live feed to the Airsoft motor. The actual recoil/ gun sound/ and shot timing come from the wee microswitch circuit on the gun that connects to the main Motherboard. The gun will not fire properly if the tiny external contacts on that are too close, but that still wouldn't stop the basic gun process beginning. So the fault must be the supply to the airsoft motor. Imex-Erik does a feature on modding that on/off switch for use with a Clark system (getting around that HL barrel elevation loop in problem.) You might find it interesting, as it shows how to separate the elevation circuit from the Airsoft firing circuit... Later models of HL tanks have resolved that issue.TANKYTOPY wrote:Thanks for the Diagram 43rd. The recoil wires on my tank are the other way round and they work ok ,on my tank there is a white wire running from the 3pin plug to the barrel elevation motor which is live when I push the stick down to elevate the barrel , that's ok and does what it should ,problem is when you push the stick up to fire gun ,the white wire remains live and the barrel goes up , the red wire for the gun is dead. So I'm not anyway electrical minded but I think power should cross from the barrel motor to the red gun wire, but this isn't happening .I did notice someone has oiled the gears on the elevation unit and put far to much oil as the motor was covered in it ,so I not sure if this has caused the problem or the little resistor on the motor can be the problem . Any ideas anybody Thanks.

No the red warning light doesn't come on. it slightly flickers dim, so I'm thinking a short somewhere ,possible barrel motor diode ?. I'm looking for a small barrel motor or turret motor to replace the one I have ,if anybody has a spare one around
. The recoil and sound work fine when it touch the micro switch but no power to gun. goes straight to gun elevation .But I will read up on the threads you mention and see if I learn something. Thanks

Handy to have a battery pack + bulb type dc continuity tester. I have a variable voltage DC power supply ( with a variety of connectors from JSTs to Tamiya) for running tests, and for powering motors...etc. But a multimeter will also allow you to test for continuity. A basic airsoft unit is pretty cheap- under £10 on Ebay...or you should buy a cheap turret with one in...also on Ebay.TANKYTOPY wrote:No the red warning light doesn't come on. it slightly flickers dim, so I'm thinking a short somewhere ,possible barrel motor diode ?. Diodes are polarity dependent one way valves (so are LEDs), and they don't like being connected up with the wrong way.

Re: Taigen KV-1 Electrics HELP NEEDED
Yes I have went over the cables with a multimeter checking continuity ,and checked motors with direct power from battery , all ok ,when I checked for voltage at the barrel motor with the probes on the white and red wire of barrel motor some how the gun fired when checking this, so that's got me thinking the problem is there at the barrel motor maybe the diode
. buying a new turret would be a solution ,but don't want to spend all that money when maybe it a cheap fix.
