- Up and running
Hi Capshaw, I reckon if you start with a tank that is too finished, you won't learn much. Here is my Heng Long Tiger, which you can see in the Heng Long section under Otto Carius Winter Camo. There are the standard mods, and I've swapped the electrics into a new metal chassis. My nephew just spent an hour running it non-stop, and there has never been a glitch that wasn't through my own dumb mistake.
Yes it would have been cheaper to buy a ready-to-run version with all this stuff, but it ever stopped I wouldn't have a clue how to fix it. And this way, I could have pulled out of the build whenever I thought I wasn't getting value out of the hobby.
But after building this Heng Long, I feel like a Panzer-Meister!

Ah..interesting to see your Tiger traverse from your graphic novel thread, and trundle on to this one Estniche!. I must say, it looks very accomplished and complete...bar the paint job and, well...
Him der verdammte Johann!
Nonetheless, this is a good example for our newbie thread host of what can be achieved with a bog-standard Heng Long Tiger, and several severe bouts of mania!
Copshaw, check out Estniche's build here: it will either send you out to the model shop, or to the Doctor for counselling
