I know from experience that Milliput zimmerit can be a slow and painful job but it's well worth it. Great result all round.

Yeah its boring, but I do like the final effect, the new method with the exacto saw's a bit quicker

I printed my Zim into a waffle pattern on my STuG III and after covering most of it up, wondered why the effort, but when you just look and reflect.................

Thats when you know why

I finished my own not too long ago, but used the Taigen recoil...that was a pain to fit!

I think the main "problem" with the lenght of the metal hull, is that they for some reason designed it, so the top hull would sit a bit back.
I used the metal hull for a Pziv I built some time ago and it fits well(had to extend the front fenders), except for the detail oriented, where you get an extra seam in the front.

Well I have put the tools on, I think some of them might need a dob of epoxy on the home-made clamps, there's a couple that haven't worked on the CA.



The clamps are just a bit of brass with a bit of copper wire for the handle. Not aber but cheap and a lot easier!



Also painted the hatches for the commander, loader and driver off white on the inside. Just want to add a few stowage items now and some antennas

Some enjoyable bits of rewarding improv here. I particularly like the use of the Exacto for Zimmerit patterning, for example. Part of the joy of modelling is making things up as you go, or discovering alternative ways of doing things. It's also good to see someone else sawing the overlarge 'booty' of the Asiatam off! I had a job convincing some members that there was a dimensional issue...and I like the way you drilled and threaded some of the notoriously poor fitting suspension components. Lt Jarndice had quite a bit to say about those too.
No doubt, I will return to my project in due course,
but maybe I'll ditch the Airsoft Pz 4 upper, and go down the Stug Strasse....
