Herman for too long I laboured under the impression that Panzer 4 Tracks had a specific direction of travel then "Dietrich" on this Forum showed photographs of PZ4s with tracks facing in the opposite direction so now I am a little less pernickety than once I was.
The problem is that we sit in the comfort of our homes with our reference books and the Forum and other internet sources while
Taking time to get everything exactly right,
But when you are a Tank crew in a Russian Winter and your O/C tells you to paint your Tank or change the Tracks the last thing you care about is which shade of Green to paint the darn thing or what way round the Tracks go.
We tend to get a little too precious in our builds, And that is my excuse for my crap builds and I got to the excuse first. :haha:
Shaun.

Fair play-you got it first
I reckon the track direction thing would have been a big deal................have read opinions that point to the early Panthers having their's put on backwards deliberately to reduce the load on the fragile final drive when moving forwards.
Agree that once done, and depending on the situation, she'll be right would have been the outcome, but normal discipline and the "Teutonic sense of organised" would have meant the things would have been turned around at the next available opportunity !! :haha:

One thing to fit tracks in the calm of a rear area, quite another to have to repeat the proces in the heat of battle because you cocked it up in the calm eh :problem:

As for the Tiger roadwheels, I can only surmise that there may have been a few 'Ersatz' solutions to clogging going on at the time, and as the pilots of the showpiece AFV's of the day, tasked with fighting the vehicle and turning the tide, good luck arguing the point with them at the time eh !

thanks all for the great and most helpful input.
I'm still new to all this. Just didn't want to make it look wrong -you know.
sounds to me like there is no wrong then...
Seems to be a "Not so Critical" issue after all.
Just wondered. Didn't expect this fascinating deluge though ! haha.
right. I'll shut up then.
(Still decorating the front room anyway - so "My" priority stuff's just gotta wait !)
Ooh - what about leaving the Tig in std grey, and then weathering the front room instead !
(Might get some funny expletives back from frau Grumpenfurher eh !)
PS - no replies required on that one !!! haha.
