I've got a little more done. This is where it will stop for a couple of weeks. When I get back, I will order up the remaining bits I need, with a view to having it finished for the November meet of the Bristol Armoured Division.

Very nicely done Richard, as always, though as to how long it lasts is anybody's guess!

Hopefully, it won't get too damaged, but as it is a ruined building, any extra destruction can be converted to more damage!

I received the bits I needed to finish the model at lunchtime today - pretty good service, considering they were only order yesterday afternoon,, when I got back from my holiday. I have now nearly finished tiling the roof. not nearly enough time to get it ready for tomorrow's BAD meeting though. I will try and get some more photos posted next week.

If you don't go to bed tonight, and what with the extra hour due to the clocks changing, there is ample time for you to get this finished.

30 or 40 years ago, I would have considered it, but as I approach three score years and ten, the get up and go I used to have has got up and went.

i have finished the tiling. In hindsight, I have realised that the roof would almost certainly have suffered much more damage than I have shown, but I have put a lot of time and material into the building, plus everything is too well glued in place for me to change it now. The photos show the roof after its base coat of Colron wood dye.

Therein lies a problem. The original recipe for finishing a roof calls for the old solvent based Colron dye. Unfortunately, being ecologically unsound, this was discontinued some while ago. The current product is water based. I did not have sufficient solvent base left after my burning house for a full treatment of a large roof. What I have done is used the water based for the coat you see. I should have enough for a second coat using the solvent base. I am hoping the end result will be as before. Time will tell.

The final stage will be a dusting with a matt black spray paint, once dry.
